2008 Recognition Awards
NELMS is pleased to announce award winners for 2008.

There were three recipients of the Promising Practitioner Award. They are: Mary Sorice, St. Philip School, Greenville, RI, Susan Mathison, Tantasqua Regional JHS, Fiskdale, MA, and Caroline Carr, The Whitefield School, Whitefield, NH. This award honors teachers who are beginning their teaching career and have one to three years of experience.

Two Administrator’s Awards were granted to John Faucher, Asst. Principal, Georgetown Middle School, Georgetown, MA, and Thomas McNulty, Jr., Principal, West Springfield Middle School, West Springfield, MA . This award honors administrators who value, understand and support effective middle level educators who promote powerful learning for young adolescents.

Master in the Middle Award honors teachers who are devoted to young adolescents, committed to best middle level practices and who have taught for 20 or more years. The winners are Jean Jacobs, The Whitefield School, Whitefield, NH, Lyn Washington, Bedford Middle School, Westport, CT and Stephanie Boosahda, Keith Middle School, New Bedford, MA .


All NELMS Awards Recipients were honored at our Awards Reception that was held at our 27th Annual Conference. Invited guests, peers, NELMS Recognitions Committee and NELMS Board Members participated in this prestigious honor bestowed upon the award recipients.
