A comprehensive literacy professional development experience and planning process designed by NELMS for middle level students and teachers to ensure increased Literacy Learning.
We Believe:
- All teachers should have the same understanding about literacy instruction!
- All students should learn reading and writing in every classroom!
- All educators in a school should be “On the Same Page!” in order to more effectively help students read and write in the content classrooms.
What is it?
“On the Same Page!” is a four day cost effective professional development experience designed for the entire faculty and school leadership. NELMS uses research based strategies and our wealth of experience to provide teachers with a common knowledge and an intentional plan to implement consistent and effective literacy instruction – reading, writing, and speaking – in each and every classroom in your middle level school. Learning common strategies and information together will increase knowledge of effective practices, relevant professional conversations, and better results for students.

- Practical engaging session of the best “tried and true” strategies in literacy instruction!
- The collaborative development of action plans to effectively implement strategies and assure sustainability.
